The full judgment in a complex international tax fraud case, successfully defended by Mr Sharp QC
On 27th November 2015, the Royal Court of Jersey upheld a decision of the Comptroller of Income Tax to provide evidence pursuant to a Tax Information Exchange Agreement. The case relates to allegations of complex international tax fraud and raised a number of legal issues that were argued during the course of a seven day hearing. Commissioner Michael Beloff QC ultimately rejected the applicants’ case and found that the decision to assist had been lawful. Mr Sharp QC represented the Comptroller during the proceedings.
